New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady expressed disappointment Monday regarding Rob Gronkowski's one-game suspension.
Gronkowski was sanctioned for delivering an illegal hit on Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White that concussed the rookie defender.
Brady spoke candidly about Gronkowski's suspension but also offered his support.
"It's an emotional game, and the emotions got the best of Rob," Brady said on Westwood One Radio, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss. "I'm disappointed that he won't be out there with us on Monday night. I think he's appealing it, but we'll see how that goes. I support Rob. I love Rob. He's been such a great supporter of mine. He knows I'm always here for him."
Gronkowski reportedly does plan to appeal the suspension, but if it's not overturned, he will miss next Monday's game against the Miami Dolphins.
