Tyrod Taylor appears to have escaped serious injury, as Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott announced Monday that the quarterback is dealing with a patella contusion and is considered day-to-day.
McDermott added that, when healthy, Taylor will remain the team's starting quarterback.
Taylor was carted to the locker room after taking a hit in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 23-3 defeat to the New England Patriots. McDermott told reporters after the game that Taylor initially injured the knee on the first play of the game, but the quarterback insisted he remain in the game.
Rookie backup Nathan Peterman replaced Taylor in the game, and it remains to be seen whether Taylor will be healthy enough to make the start when the Bills take on Indianapolis Colts this week.
