Despite his team storming back with 28 second-half points to upset the New England Patriots 42-27 in the season opener, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce couldn't fully appreciate the occasion.
"It's the first game. I'm on a bit of a low right now because my guy EB (safety Eric Berry) is down. I love him to death. He's our fearless leader and to see him go down in the first game breaks your heart," said Kelce in his postgame press conference.
Berry is believed to have suffered an Achilles tear late in Thursday's game. He's scheduled to undergo an MRI Friday to reveal the full extent of the damage and determine a possible timeline for his return.
