Report: Bills' Dareus sent home for violation of team rule

Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus was sent home Saturday ahead of the team's preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.

Dareus has been an integral part of the Bills' defense since being selected third overall in the 2011 Draft, earning consecutive Pro Bowl selections in 2013 and 2014.

This isn't Dareus' first infraction since joining the Bills. He served a four-game suspension to begin the 2016 season for his second violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy. The defensive tackle previously served a one-game suspension for his first violation of the policy.

"A guy with his contract status, you'd hope he'd be a better leader than that," Bills general manager Brandon Beane said to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

The Bills refused to specify which rule Dareus violated, noting that it was a team-related manner only.
