Demaryius Thomas thinks Siemian can guide Broncos to Super Bowl

Standout receiver Demaryius Thomas believes Trevor Siemian is capable of guiding the Denver Broncos to the Super Bowl, as long as the third-year quarterback doesn't make a habit of coughing up the football.

"I think so. Our main thing is taking care of the ball," Thomas told Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post. "We got a great defense, we got a great receiving corps, great offensive line, great running back crew. Trevor is going to take care of the ball and put us in the right spots. It’s just about everybody staying healthy and doing their part."

Siemian won the team's starting role for the second consecutive year, but is coming off an underwhelming 2016 campaign. After capturing Super Bowl 50 the previous season, the Broncos missed the playoffs a year ago despite boasting an elite defense.

Thomas caught 90 passes for 1,083 yards and five touchdowns last season, excellent figures for most players, but totals that paled in comparison to his previous output.

Broncos head coach Vance Joseph implored Thomas to become a more consistent presence in 2017, as the team looks to get back to the big game.

"I want him to be a dominant player all the time,” Joseph said. “I don’t want him to ease into games. I want him to be a guy. I want him to step out and be a guy. It’s time."
