Jerry Jones does not anticipate the NFL's year-long investigation into the off-field actions of Ezekiel Elliott will result in a suspension.
The Dallas Cowboys owner was clear and succinct when describing his expectation Friday, telling reporters at his Hall of Fame news conference, "I do not anticipate a suspension," according to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News.
Jones said during Thursday's Hall of Fame Game broadcast that he doesn't believe allegations of domestic violence are part of the NFL's investigation.
"The domestic violence is not an issue. Zeke has had some other things that have been looked at," Jones said, according to Will Brinson of CBS Sports.
Since entering the NFL in 2016, Elliott has visited a marijuana dispensary in Seattle, pulled down a woman's shirt to expose her breast at a St. Patrick's Day parade, and been pulled over for driving 100 mph in a 70-mph zone.
It's possible the NFL will look at the sum of Elliott's behavior and issue a short suspension for violating the personal conduct policy, but apparently Jones doesn't believe it's likely.
