Payton 'definitely' plans on coaching Saints next season
While Sean Payton's future in New Orleans continues to be a question mark, the head coach insists he isn't planning on leaving the Saints this offseason.
"My plan is definitely to be back here," Payton said Monday on WWL Radio, according to ESPN's Mike Triplett. "Shoot, I've got four more years on my contract here. And I plan on honoring that."
Reports continue to surface about the possibility of Payton being traded during the offseason, with the Los Angeles Rams mentioned as a potential landing spot.
The rumors were heightened when it was reported Payton and Saints general manager Mickey Loomis met after Sunday's season finale to discuss the head coach's future.
However, Payton called the report "completely false," saying that, while he did talk with Loomis, it was a standard meeting.
