Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson struggled in his much-anticipated return from injury Sunday, rushing for 22 yards during the team's 34-6 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
The Vikings slowly reintegrated Peterson in the lineup after the star running back missed 11 games due to a torn meniscus. Peterson ran the ball six times, losing a fumble, in a largely ineffective performance.
Jerick McKinnon also was used sparingly, recording 12 yards on three carries.
Peterson suffered the injury in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers.
