Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn revealed Wednesday morning on 92.9 The Game that his star receiver Julio Jones has a sprained toe and not turf toe, Vaughn McClure of ESPN reports.
It could end up being good news for the Falcons, as turf toe is a sprain of the ligaments around the big toe joint. If in fact Jones does not have turf toe and the issue is with another toe, he could be dealing with a less severe injury.
The Falcons were already expected to have Jones back at practice later this week. The league leader in receiving yards missed Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams with the toe injury.
Atlanta plays the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15 and enters the game tied for the lead in the NFC South with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
