Like the rest of us, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles had never seen an interception thrown off a teammate's foot before Sunday.

Bortles committed his second turnover - officially recorded as a fumble because the pass was thrown backward - in the first half of the loss to the Houston Texans, after throwing a pick-6 on the game's opening drive.

"No, I've never seen that," Bortles said, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. "From the time you start playing quarterback, they tell you if the screen is covered to throw it at his feet. I was trying to make a smart play, live to play another down, and then that happens. It was unfortunate, but stuff like that happens from time to time and you've got to deal with it and bounce back from it."

Bortles once again rallied to end the game with a more impressive stat line than his play might indicate. He finished with 265 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, but the Jags fell short again in this disappointing 2-7 season.
