The San Francisco 49ers confirmed Monday that star linebacker NaVorro Bowman suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in Sunday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
The four-time All-Pro linebacker was carted to the locker room after injuring his Achilles on a non-contact play in the third quarter.
It's the second major injury of Bowman's career. He tore his ACL and MCL in the 2013 NFC Championship Game and missed the entire 2014 season.
Bowman returned to play at a high level in 2015, but really seemed to have truly returned to his pre-injury form this year. Through four games, Bowman posted 35 combined tackles, three passes defensed, one sack, one interception and one forced fumble.
