The New Orleans Saints have re-signed guard Jahri Evans to a one-year deal, a source informed ESPN's Adam Caplan.

The 10-year veteran spent his entire career with the Saints before being released in February after refusing to take a pay cut.

After visiting with the Buffalo Bills in the offseason, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks, but failed to make the team's final 53-man roster.

The Saints waived 2015 draft pick Garrett Grayson on Wednesday, opening up a roster spot Evans can fill.

"His preseason in Seattle we thought was pretty good," Saints coach Sean Payton said in a conference call Wednesday. "He is in good shape, he's big, and he knows our system. Those would be some of the traits that would draw us to a move like that or the potential to bring him in."

He would solidify the team's line by playing at left guard alongside tackle Terron Armstead, center Max Unger, right guard Andrus Peat, and right tackle Zach Strief.
