Dolphins' Jay Ajayi: Finds tough sledding on ground Thursday
Ajayi totaled 11 yards on his seven carries and secured both of his targets for 12 yards in Thursday's 17-6 preseason victory over the Falcons.
Analysis:
The second-year back couldn't get anything going on the ground, with six of his 11 yards coming on one carry. Ryan Tannehill's 22 yards actually paced the Dolphins in rushing on the night, an indication of how stingy the Falcons run defense was overall. The lack of overall success means that he wasn't outshone by any of the other backs competing for a roster spot, but both the team and Ajayi surely are hoping that he can begin to garner a much higher degree of success once the regular campaign kicks off.
