David Ortiz: NFL will lose a fan if Brady's 'stupid' suspension upheld
Add David Ortiz to the growing list of Tom Brady truthers.
The Boston Red Sox slugger said if the New England Patriots quarterback isn't playing when the NFL season starts in September, he won't be watching.
"I think it's stupid, to be honest with you," Ortiz told Andy Gray of Sports Illustrated. "Put it this way: You're talking about the one player that everybody wants to watch play. We're not just talking about any player. We're talking about Tom Brady. If I turn on the TV on Sunday to watch a Patriots game and I know that Tom Brady is not playing, I would turn off the TV. I don't want to watch that game."
It's not the first time "Big Papi" has made a weird point about "Deflategate." In April, Ortiz said of the NFL's unfair treatment of Brady: "When you fight eggs with a rock, the eggs never win. It's crazy."
Brady's four game suspension was reinstated this offseason after a Federal appeals court ruled in favor of Roger Goodell's original determination on discipline.
