San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke kicked off the eve of the NFL draft by suggesting it's "possible" quarterback Colin Kaepernick is traded this week.

The only verified interest for the 28-year-old has come from the Denver Broncos and, according to Mike Klis of 9News, the two teams aren't close to making a deal.

Klis reports that the Broncos trading for Kaepernick is "not likely" to occur by Sunday, the day after the NFL draft wraps up. He adds that a trade is not impossible, but there have been "zero talks" about a deal.

Broncos general manager John Elway said last Thursday that the team is interested in acquiring the pass thrower, but talks have been "dormant."

Klis also says the Broncos are going to be patient in their search for a quarterback with only Mark Sanchez and Trevor Siemian on the roster at the position and yet to set a deadline for adding another.
