Sources close to Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy expect him to avoid criminal charges in connection to a nightclub brawl that saw two off-duty police officers beaten, Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News reports.
At least one person who was with McCoy on the night of the incident is expected to face charges, Carucci adds.
The victims reportedly suffered broken ribs and a fractured skull, among other injures. The scuffle reportedly started over the disputed ownership of a bottle of champagne.
Investigators reportedly recommended McCoy be charged with assault initially, but authorities have been slow to proceed with the case.
