Jamie Vardy breaks Leicester City record with 7-match scoring streak

Jamie Vardy is at it again.

The Leicester City forward's relentless work rate and greatly improved eye for a goal was rewarded again Saturday as he tallied his 10th goal of the Premier League campaign in his 10th appearance, breaking a club record in the process.

The 28-year-old latched onto a lofted ball from Riyad Mahrez, flicked it over onrushing Crystal Palace 'keeper Wayne Hennessey, and blasted in from 3 yards while under the close attention of defender Scott Dann.

The goal puts Leicester on its way to a 1-0 win at the King Power Stadium.

Vardy's nearest rivals for the golden boot - around £90 million worth of talent in Alexis Sanchez, Sergio Aguero, and Georginio Wijnaldum - are four goals behind with six strikes each. Vardy cost the Foxes £1 million from Fleetwood Town in 2012, a record fee received by a non-league club.

Not bad for a player who's written his name in the Leicester City history books and won a regular spot in Roy Hodgson's England squad.
