Italian central defender Daniele Bonera has joined Villarreal from AC Milan on a one-year deal, the Spanish club announced on Tuesday.
Bonera brings with him a wealth of experience, having played over 300 matches in Serie A. The Italian was heralded by his new team as a player with "character and personality" that will "bring balance" to a young Villarreal side in 2015-16.
He and fellow central defender Victor Ruiz, signed by the Yellow Submarine at the top of the summer window, are expected to start in tandem in the back four.
