5. Mohamed Salah - Chelsea to AS Roma

This summer was tough for Mohamed Salah. His future was unclear after he decided to break off his loan spell with Fiorentina. The Italian club threatened to pursue legal action against Salah, with Fiorentina saying that they had activated an option to keep the player for a further 12 months.
In the end, Roma swooped in and picked up the 23-year-old winger on loan from Chelsea.
Not only did the Giallorossi manage to weaken a Serie A rival, but they also signed one of the hottest players from the second half of the 2014-15 season.
Salah scored six goals and set up three more in 16 Serie A appearances with Fiorentina from February to May. He went on an immediate tear following his unchaining from the Chelsea bench.
"I'd like to stay at one club for a long time," he told Roma's official website. And with that consistency may come his best performances.
4. Mario Suarez - Atletico Madrid to Fiorentina

Fiorentina also lost one of its protagonists, defender Stefan Savic, to Atletico Madrid. But Mario Suarez came to Italy in the exchange, and he should reinforce one of the better midfields in Serie A.
His physical style of play will work to his advantage in Italy, giving Fiorentina a steely presence in the middle of the park.
He should also excel given that he is guaranteed much more playing time with La Viola.
3. Jeison Murillo - Granada to Inter Milan

Reported €8-million fee (read more)
Inter Milan already has the top Serie A scorer in its ranks, but they just couldn't stop the goals coming against them. The captain Andrea Ranocchia was perhaps the biggest culprit at the back, and Nemanja Vidic was no help, either.
So the defence needed reinforcements, and centre-backs don't come cheap.
Except Inter didn't even have to spend a lot of money.
Jeison Murillo arrives in Italy after two solid seasons with Granada, where he was an undisputed starter. At just 23 years old, Murillo also has international experience with Colombia. He made an average of 4.8 interceptions per game during this summer's Copa America – higher than any other player at the tournament – and he was physical on and off the ball.
His long balls can launch a transition game, but his vital tackling and positing could prove the difference for Inter this season and beyond.
2. Carlos Bacca - Sevilla to AC Milan

€30-million transfer (read more)
No one striker has managed to truly impose himself as the go-to target man at AC Milan. So they went out and finally bought one.
Carlos Bacca has the speed and the timing to score heaps of goals. He helped Sevilla to back-to-back Europa League titles over the past seasons while netting 49 goals in all competitions.
But it's his pace in and around the penalty box that leaves defenders guessing, and his accuracy is deadly: His 75 percent shooting efficiency was the best in La Liga last season.
For €30 million, Milan is getting the complete package.
1. Paulo Dybala - Palermo to Juventus

€32-million transfer (read more)
Paulo Dybala joins Bacca as one of the most expensive signings of the summer transfer window.
Except Dybala is just 21 years old, and Bacca is 28.
The big price tag comes after a breakout season with Palermo, where Dybala became one of only three players in Serie A that year to reach double digits in both goals (13) and assists (10).
Suddenly he has a huge role at Juventus following the departure of Carlos Tevez, and he is even wearing Andrea Pirlo's No. 21.
It's a huge step up, but it's a chance for him to prove himself as the "new Sergio Aguero."
