Sometimes a deal doesn't work out as planned.

The Nashville Predators gave up their 2015 first-round pick, prospect Brendan Leipsic and six games of Olli Jokinen to acquire defenseman Cody Franson and forward Mike Santorelli from the Toronto Maple Leafs in February; a deal that didn't pan out for them.

Predators general manager David Poile was not satisfied with his return in the deal and isn't interested in bringing the pair back.

Franson managed just four points in 23 games for the Predators and didn't seem to fit into the team's system, while Santorelli ended up a minus-7, earning just one goal and three assists in 22 games with Nashville.

Poile also mentioned that his top priorities of the off-season include re-signing forwards Mike Fisher and Mike Ribeiro, and that the team hasn't decided if they will re-sign Anton Volchenkov, but said the team may go in a different direction.
