Canadiens' Parenteau on return to Colorado: 'I have some butterflies'

The Montreal Canadiens begin their three-game road trip in a location very familiar to P.A. Parenteau.

The Canadiens forward played 103 games with the Colorado Avalanche, and Parenteau has fond memories of his time in Denver as he prepares to play his former team Monday for the first time since being traded.

"I have some butterflies; I'm excited to be back," Parenteau told NHL.com. "I had a really good time here, made a lot of good friends. It's going to be special tonight. We're playing some good hockey this year and I'm looking forward to this challenge."

The Avalanche traded Parenteau for Daniel Briere in the offseason after knee injuries forced him to miss 25 games last season.

"I kind of knew my days were numbered here after the year," he said. "It's a business nowadays. I'm really happy where I am right now. It couldn't work any better for me. I'm playing for the Montreal Canadiens in my hometown so I couldn't ask for a better scenario. I'm really, really happy right now."
