The Buffalo Bills were without star defensive tackle Ed Oliver for Thursday's game against the Detroit Lions after he injured his hip in pregame warmups.
The Bills cruised to a 41-31 victory in their home opener without Oliver, improving to 2-0 on the young season. Thursday Night Football marked the first regular-season game at Buffalo's new Highmark Stadium.
Oliver registered five tackles, one tackle for a loss, and a fumble recovery in the Bills' Week 1 win over the Houston Texans.
Oliver missed the majority of the 2025 regular season due to a torn bicep. The 28-year-old played in three games before returning for Buffalo's divisional-round contest against the Denver Broncos.
Running back Ty Johnson and defensive lineman T.J. Sanders were among the other Bills inactives versus the Lions.
