Crawford retires from boxing with perfect 42-0 record

Five-division champion Terence Crawford announced his retirement from professional boxing Tuesday.

Crawford ends his pro career with a perfect record of 42-0 (31 KOs).

"I'm stepping away from competition, not because I'm done fighting but because I've won a different kind of battle," Crawford said on his YouTube channel. "The one where you walk away on your own terms. This isn't goodbye, it's just the end of one fight and the beginning of another."

The 38-year-old became the first male boxer to secure three unified division titles when he beat Canelo Álvarez to win the super middleweight championship in Las Vegas in September.

Crawford held 18 different titles across five weight classes over his career, which began in 2008. He was undisputed in super middleweight, light welterweight, and welterweight.
