The Detroit Tigers acquired right-hander Kyle Finnegan from the Washington Nationals for right-handers Josh Randall and R.J. Sales, the teams announced Thursday.
Finnegan is the third bullpen arm acquired by the Tigers after they picked up Paul Sewald and Rafael Montero from the Cleveland Guardians and Atlanta Braves, respectively.
Sewald was transferred to the 60-day injured list to make room for Finnegan on the 40-man roster.
Detroit also traded for pitchers Chris Paddack and Randy Dobnak on Monday.
The 33-year-old Finnegan posted a 4.38 ERA with 20 saves in 39 innings for the Nationals this season. He's saved 108 games for the Nationals since 2020.
Finnegan re-signed a one-year, $6-million deal with the Nationals in February, although his contract includes deferrals.

The Tigers will take on the prorated portion of each payment. So about 1/3 of each $2 million payment.
Randall is the Tigers' No. 15 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. The 22-year-old posted a 3.92 ERA in 17 minor-league starts this season.
Sales is also 22. A 10th-round pick in the 2024 draft, he recorded a 2.71 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 66 1/3 innings for Single-A Lakeland.
