Report: North Carolina to be featured on HBO's Hard Knocks
North Carolina is expected to be featured on HBO Max's offseason edition of "Hard Knocks," according to Front Office Sports' Ryan Glasspiegel.
Tar Heels general manager Michael Lombardi said Friday that a deal hasn't been finalized. The final decision will be made by school officials.
"I think there's a lot of conversations going on right now about that," Lombardi told the "The Pat McAfee Show." "I think we've had a lot of offers from people all over to come in and look at our program and do the behind-the-scenes thing."
This will mark the second season of the series after the New York Giants were featured last year.
The program showed Giants GM Joe Schoen telling running back Saquon Barkley that he should explore free agency before the star ultimately signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. The show couldn't find an NFL team willing to participate this year because of that incident, per Glasspiegel.
North Carolina has received a lot of hype after hiring Bill Belichick as head coach in December. The six-time Super Bowl winner is replacing Mack Brown, who was dismissed after six seasons in his second stint as coach with the program.
The Tar Heels will open the 2025 season against TCU on Sept. 1.
