The Carolina Hurricanes traded unsigned defenseman Cade Webber to the Toronto Maple Leafs for a 2026 sixth-round pick, the teams announced.
Webber is a towering presence at 6-foot-7, 210 pounds. The 23-year-old is in his senior year at Boston University, where he's produced six assists in 30 games for the Terriers.
The Hurricanes drafted Webber in the fourth round in 2019.
