Rodgers: Jets need to hold poise amid offensive struggles

Injured star quarterback Aaron Rodgers wants to see his New York Jets teammates stick together following two straight losses.
"This is what teams have to go through," Rodgers said Tuesday on "The Pat McAfee Show." "There's adversity points in every season. This year it's happening early and people are coming for us and there are some heated conversations on the sideline and different things.
"I think we need to hold our poise a little better, really just offensively. We need to not have some of those things happening on the sideline, and to be a little better, and to be a little better competitors."
Jets receiver Garrett Wilson and running back Michael Carter were visibly frustrated on the sideline during Sunday's matchup against the Patriots.
The four-time league MVP is calling for calm at a time when his replacement, Zach Wilson, is under fire. The 24-year-old has filled in for Rodgers, who is expected to miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon.
Wilson has struggled to spark the offense. He completed 18 of 36 passes for 157 yards with a 61.9 passer rating in Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots. The former second overall pick has a 52.4% completion rate, two touchdowns, four interceptions, and has been sacked eight times to begin his 2023 campaign.
New York is reportedly signing veteran quarterback Trevor Siemian to its practice squad on Tuesday.
The Jets sport a 1-2 record, with the lone win coming in their season-opening game against the Buffalo Bills. New York has struggled without Rodgers, scoring just 10 points in losses to the Dallas Cowboys and Patriots, and ranks last in the league in both points per game (14) and yards per contest (225).
Rodgers admitted that it's been hard to watch the Jets from a distance as he continues his rehab.
"I miss the guys, miss the leadership opportunity, miss balling, competing," he said.
