Neymar has cast doubt over his participation at the 2026 World Cup in North America, saying Qatar could be his final appearance in the global showpiece.

The 30-year-old attacker has played in the last two World Cups for Brazil, but the Canarinha's fifth and most recent success in the tournament was in 2002.

"I'll play like it's the last," the Paris Saint-Germain star told Globo's Por Marcio Iannacca, as translated by ESPN's Adriana Garcia. "I talk to my father, we always talk, to play each game as if it were the last because you don't know what will happen tomorrow.

"I can't guarantee that I'll play another (World) Cup. I honestly don't know. I'll play like it's the last. Maybe I'll play another one, maybe not. It depends. There's going to be a coaching change, and I don't know if that coach will like me."

Tite, who took charge of Brazil in 2016, is set to step down when the World Cup is over.

Neymar is in fine form for PSG, scoring 11 goals and assisting nine times over 14 Ligue 1 appearances this season. He also notched two goals and two assists in the Champions League group stage.

The former Barcelona frontman is chasing a historic record for his country. Neymar currently has 75 goals for Brazil, which is only two behind the men's all-time highest tally of 77 held by Pele. Marta has scored 115 goals for the Brazil women's team.

Brazil kicks off its World Cup campaign against Serbia on Nov. 24. Meetings with Switzerland and Cameroon round off its group commitments.
