Suns select Day'Ron Sharpe with No. 29 pick, headed to Nets
With the No. 29 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, the Brooklyn Nets have selected North Carolina center Day'Ron Sharpe.
Brooklyn reportedly acquired the 29th pick earlier Thursday after trading Landry Shamet to the Phoenix Suns.
Sharpe was among the top recruits at his position in last year's class, but the Tar Heels' logjam of big men kept him out of the starting five. Sharpe still produced solid numbers as the first center off the bench, averaging 9.5 points, 7.6 boards, and 0.9 blocks in just under 20 minutes per contest.
The McDonald's All-American also ranked ninth nationally in total offensive boards despite playing significantly less than those ahead of him on the leaderboard.
