Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold will not be named in England's 26-man squad for this summer's European Championship, sources told James Olley of ESPN.
Manager Gareth Southgate, who included the enterprising right-back in his provisional 33-player team last week, will trim that group down and unveil the Three Lions' final roster on Tuesday.
Reece James and Kyle Walker will be included assuming they don't report any fitness issues stemming from their involvement in the Champions League final, Olley notes. The Chelsea and Manchester City standouts are expected to be joined by Kieran Trippier, leaving no room for Alexander-Arnold.
The 22-year-old was a surprise exclusion from England's World Cup qualifying squad in March, with Southgate citing his form as the reason he was left at home.
Alexander-Arnold produced an impressive finish to the season after that, helping Liverpool climb back into the top four in the Premier League, but it appears that wasn't enough to earn him a place at the Euros.
Tuesday is the deadline for all 24 teams to finalize their rosters for Euro 2020. The tournament begins June 11.
