Robert Lewandowski will miss around four weeks after he suffered a knee ligament injury during Poland's 3-0 win over Andorra on Sunday, Bayern Munich announced.

The striker is expected to be sidelined for both legs of Bayern's Champions League quarterfinal tussle with Paris Saint-Germain, and he's also set to miss Bundesliga matches against RB Leipzig, Union Berlin, Wolfsburg, Bayer Leverkusen, and Mainz.

The 32-year-old was already ruled out of Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against England before Bayern learned the extent of his injury back in Munich.

Lewandowski scored twice for Poland in the weekend fixture before he exited in the 63rd minute. He scored 16 goals over his last 10 outings for club and country and has an overall record of 47 strikes in 43 appearances over the 2020-21 campaign.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting or winger Serge Gnabry are likely to get minutes spearheading Bayern's attack in Lewandowski's stead.
