Manchester United are reportedly prepared to wait until the summer to act on their interest in Norwich City's Max Aarons.
The full-back has been a United target since the end of the previous transfer window when the club drew up a list of potential recruits from the Championship, according to ESPN's Rob Dawson. However, Norwich's asking price and determination to keep their best players for their promotion push make a deal likelier to be struck at the end of the season.
Barcelona reportedly failed with two bids for Aarons last summer, including their initial offer of a season-long loan with an option to buy for €20 million. The Spanish club eventually signed Sergino Dest instead.
Though Aarons largely operates on the right side, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes the 20-year-old can also play on the left. This means he could provide cover for Diogo Dalot - who's on loan at AC Milan this season - and out-of-favor left-back Brandon Williams.
Aarons missed only two Premier League matches last term as Norwich suffered relegation back into the Championship. The England Under-21 regular has helped the Canaries fashion a three-point advantage atop the second tier while appearing in all of their 22 matches this campaign.
