The Toronto Blue Jays are among the teams showing interest in veteran right-hander Mike Fiers as the winter meetings begin Monday, a source told MLB Network's Jon Morosi.
The Blue Jays' rotation finished 17th in ERA last season despite a stellar year from ace Hyun-Jin Ryu, who finished third in American League Cy Young voting.
Fiers spent the past two-and-a-half seasons with the Oakland Athletics, authoring a 26-9 record with a 4.00 ERA in 296 2/3 innings.
The 35-year-old threw a no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds on May 7, 2019. It was the second one of his career after he no-hit the Los Angeles Dodgers on Aug. 21, 2015 while with the Houston Astros.
Fiers is also famous for his whistleblowing role in the Astros' sign-stealing scandal.
He's the latest target of a Blue Jays organization that has been linked to a number of players this offseason, including George Springer, DJ LeMahieu, Michael Brantley, Justin Turner, J.A. Happ, Andrelton Simmons, Kolten Wong, Brad Hand, Jean Segura, and Ha-seong Kim.
Toronto already bolstered its rotation by re-signing Robbie Ray to a one-year, $8-million contract in November.
