Tottenham sign Joe Rodon from Swansea for reported initial £11M fee
Tottenham Hotspur have strengthened their defensive ranks with the signing of Joe Rodon, the club announced on Friday.
The 22-year-old links up with Welsh teammates Gareth Bale and Ben Davies in north London after completing a move from Swansea City on English football's deadline day for domestic transfers.
He cost £11 million before add-ons, according to The Athletic's Charlie Eccleshare. The Swans were reportedly initially holding out for at least £18 million.
Rodon earned his Swans debut early in the 2018-19 campaign after progressing through his local club's academy. The 6-foot-4 center-back made 21 appearances last season and has developed a reputation for carrying the ball out of the back and playing incisive passes.
Rodon inked a contract until 2025 with Spurs and will wear the No. 14 shirt.
