Lawyer: McGregor won't be charged with attempted sexual assault, indecent exposure
Conor McGregor's lawyer announced the former UFC champion has been released from jail without being charged after being detained under suspicion of attempted sexual assault and indecent exposure, according to Agence-France Presse.
McGregor was placed in police custody in the French region of Corsica on Thursday.
On Saturday, the prosecutor's office issued a statement saying it had received a complaint against McGregor "denouncing acts that could be described as attempted sexual assault and sexual exhibition."
A spokesperson for the mixed martial artist sent a statement from the United States, which said the 32-year-old "vigorously denied any accusation of bad behavior."
McGregor's lawyer called the complaint filed against his client "abusive."
The Ireland native was attending a water safety awareness event in Corsica with fiancee Dee Devlin.
McGregor announced in June that he was retiring from fighting.
