Leonard Fournette is continuing his pitch for the Jacksonville Jaguars to sign Cam Newton.

After the Jaguars traded quarterback Nick Foles to the Chicago Bears and the Carolina Panthers cut Newton in free agency, Fournette posed a question to Newton in late March in a since-deleted Instagram post, asking, "What we doing teaming up or what?"

On Thursday, the Jaguars running back continued that campaign on ESPN's "First Take."

"Cam went to the Super Bowl. He's a great guy. I've been knowing Cam for a minute now," Fournette said. "And like I told some people that talked to me, it's no disrespect to (Gardner) Minshew. I'm just trying to get in the best position as a team as we can (to) win."

Fournette added that he's simply looking for competition for Minshew.

Minshew, a sixth-round pick in 2019, is expected to enter 2020 as the Jaguars' starting quarterback barring any developments.

Newton has not yet been linked to any team since he was released by the Panthers after nine years with the franchise.
