The Montreal Canadiens traded forward Matthew Peca to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Aaron Luchuk and a 2020 seventh-round pick, the team announced Monday.
Peca, 26, has appeared in five games with the Canadiens this season, failing to record a point. Drafted in the seventh round by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2011, he's mustered six goals and 11 assists in 64 NHL contests.
Luchuk, 22, was undrafted and has yet to appear in an NHL game. He recorded 19 goals and 50 points in 45 appearances with the ECHL's Newfoundland Growlers this season and will report to the AHL's Laval Rocket.
