A Venezuelan winter league game between Aguilas de Zulia and Caribes de Anzoategui got out of hand on Wednesday.
In the middle of the eighth inning of a 13-1 contest, Aguilas hitter Alex Romero attacked Caribes catcher Gabriel Lino with a bat after pitcher Angel Nesbitt threw behind him.
Benches emptied between the two teams, who continued to fight with one another near the third-base side of the stadium.
Romero, Nesbitt, Lino and two other players (one of which was Willians Astudillo of the Minnesota Twins) were ejected after the melee.
Suspensions are expected, according to a translated report from VPItv.
