The Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks have engaged in trade talks focused on star big man Andre Drummond, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

However, no deal is imminent and Detroit is reportedly also speaking with several other teams about the 6-foot-10 center, Wojnarowski adds.

The Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks, and Toronto Raptors have expressed interest in acquiring Drummond, sources told Yahoo Sports' Vincent Goodwill.

Drummond holds a $28-million player option for next season, yet during a public appearance in August, he all but confirmed that he'd test the free-agent waters in 2020.

Other teams increasingly believe that the Pistons will deal the UConn product before the Feb. 6 trade deadline, reports Wojnarowski.

Prior to the 2019-20 season, Detroit owner Tom Gores said that locking up Drummond would be a top priority. But at halftime of Thursday's loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, which dropped the Pistons to 12-23, Gores sounded open to a potential rebuild.

"Well, we have to look at everything because we're not winning - so you're not winning, to me, you have to assess everything," Gores said, according to Rod Beard of The Detroit News. "I think anybody would want to do that. And probably in the next month or so, we're going to get together as an organization and just discuss things."

In the Motor City, Drummond has blossomed into a two-time All-Star. He topped the league in rebounding over the past two seasons and three of the past four campaigns overall.

The 26-year-old is averaging 17.6 points and an NBA-leading 15.8 boards along with two steals and 1.8 blocks per game across 33 appearances this season.

Atlanta is in the market for center help, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania. The Hawks possess multiple expiring contracts and the Brooklyn Nets' 2020 first-round draft pick to offer in a potential move for Drummond.
