Nick Young believes social media trolls may be deterring NBA teams from signing Carmelo Anthony.

Young, who's currently a free agent like Anthony, told TMZ Sports the 10-time NBA All-Star "still has a lot of basketball left in him," but Instagram memes are painting him in a negative light.

"I think it got a lot to do with Instagram and how he's being treated," Young said when asked why he thinks Anthony hasn't been signed. "Every time he shoots the ball, it's a meme. It's kinda funny, but it kinda messed him up."

The 35-year-old Anthony last appeared in an NBA game in November 2018 as a member of the Houston Rockets. There were rumors that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were pushing the Brooklyn Nets to sign him, but The Athletic's Shams Charania reported late last month that the team is unlikely to do so.
