Trevor Bauer has been fined by the league for throwing a baseball over the center-field wall from the mound after getting pulled from a rough outing on Sunday, ESPN reports.

The amount of the fine is not yet known.

Although the right-hander apologized after the game, Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona could still punish Bauer internally for his antics.

"To be honest with you, I need to figure out what I consider is proper and respectful," Francona said. "I would never do something without (team president) Chris (Antonetti) and (general manager) Chernie's (Mike Chernoff) input. I thought they were so busy that it just wasn't right to put that on their plate.

"So there will be a time to get to that. After they hear from the league, and after they get a chance to settle down a little bit, we can discuss exactly what's right as we move forward."

Meanwhile, trade rumors surrounding the 28-year-old continue to swirl with Wednesday's deadline approaching.

Multiple execs say they believe it's likely the Indians trade Bauer, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

The Houston Astros and Indians have discussed a potential Bauer deal, sources told Jon Morosi of MLB Network. In addition, the New York Yankees are still in touch with Cleveland about Bauer's availability, MLB Network's Jon Heyman reports.

The Cincinnati Reds are also interested in acquiring Bauer, with outfield prospect Taylor Trammel targeted as one of the players who could head back to the Indians, sources told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

Bauer has a 3.79 ERA on the season with 185 strikeouts in 156 2/3 innings.
