Spurs send Bertans to Wizards
The San Antonio Spurs have traded forward Davis Bertans to the Washington Wizards, the teams announced Saturday.
Washington also sends the rights to forward Aaron White to the Brooklyn Nets as a part of a three-team deal that involves the latter dealing DeMarre Carroll to the Spurs.
Bertans' $7-million expiring deal will be absorbed into Washington's $8.6-million traded player exception acquired from the Oklahoma City Thunder in the trade for Markieff Morris, according to Aldridge.
Bertans adds some much-needed outside shooting to a Wizards squad that finished 26th in 3-point field goal percentage last season. The 26-year-old shot a career-high 42.9 percent from distance on 4.4 3-point attempts per game this past campaign.
Carroll has experienced a bit of a resurgence after a disappointing two-year stint with the Toronto Raptors. The veteran forward averaged 12.3 points and 5.9 boards per contest over the last two seasons with the Nets.
