Jason Day re-aggravated a lingering back injury prior to Round 1 of the Masters on Thursday, and he's managing the issue with a unique tactic.

Day said he has to get his rib cage in the proper position each day and does so by blowing into balloons in various positions, according to ESPN's Marty Smith. The entire process takes 20-to-30 minutes a night.

The 31-year-old fired a 5-under 67 Friday to grab a share of the clubhouse lead.

Day is looking to capture his first green jacket after finishing as a runner-up in 2011 and in third in 2013.
