Report: Chiefs, Hill negotiating potential record-setting deal
The Kansas City Chiefs have begun negotiating a potential record-setting deal with receiver Tyreek Hill, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The Chiefs have been working on getting their finances in order, franchise tagging linebacker Dee Ford and reportedly making pass-rusher Justin Houston available for trade.
Hill broke out in 2018 with a 1,479-yard, 14-touchdown season, including a punt-return score. He was named an All-Pro at the flex position and also made his third consecutive Pro Bowl.
The Chiefs led the league in total offense and points scored in 2018, with Hill and MVP Patrick Mahomes forming a nearly unstoppable connection.
The 5-foot-10 speedster - widely considered the league's fastest player - is scheduled to become a free agent in 2020.
The current top contract at the wide receiver position is the five-year, $90-million deal Odell Beckham Jr. signed in August.
