Report: Gruden 'very interested' in Kyler Murray
Jon Gruden may be ready for a change under center for the Oakland Raiders.
Both Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock insist that Derek Carr is the team's franchise quarterback, but another signal-caller may have caught the head coach's attention.
"Someone in Indianapolis told me Jon Gruden is the worst poker player in the NFL," NBC's Peter King said on the "Dan Patrick Show." "He and Mike Mayock can talk all they want about Derek Carr ... but I'll tell you Jon Gruden is very interested in Kyler Murray."
The Raiders currently have three first-round picks in the 2019 NFL Draft, including the No. 4 overall selection.
Murray, the 2018 Heisman winner, is rumored to also intrigue the Arizona Cardinals, who hold the first overall pick.
Oakland went 4-12 in 2018 with Carr at quarterback. He threw for 4049 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
