Sergio Garcia's emotions got the best of him Saturday.

The European Tour disqualified the Spaniard for "serious misconduct" during the third round of the Saudi International, according to Alex Miceli of The Morning Read.

"I respect the decision of my disqualification," Garcia said in a statement. "In frustration, I damaged a couple of greens, for which I apologize for, and I have informed my fellow players it will never happen again."

Garcia damaged at least two greens by hitting his club into the surface, defacing them in frustration, players told Miceli.

The 39-year-old shot a 1-over 71 on Saturday, making him even for the tournament and 16 strokes off the lead.
