Report: Pirates interested in Tulowitzki
It appears Troy Tulowitzki could have a chance to reunite with a familiar face.
The free-agent shortstop is drawing interest from the Pittsburgh Pirates, sources told The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal. Tulowitzki played for current Pirates manager Clint Hurdle with the Colorado Rockies from 2006-09.
During their time together, the Rockies appeared in the 2007 World Series, where they lost to the Boston Red Sox.
The 34-year-old Tulowitzki, who was released by the Toronto Blue Jays last week with $38 million left on his contract, is reportedly deciding between six teams interested in his services.
He missed the entire 2018 season after undergoing surgery on both of his heels, but a team can likely sign him for the minimum salary, according to Rosenthal.
Over the course of his career, Tulowitzki owns a .290/.361/.495 slash line with 224 home runs and plus-93 defensive runs saved at shortstop. However, he slashed just .250/.313/.414 in 238 games after joining the Blue Jays in 2015.
