Report: Patriots interested in Broncos' Thomas, Lions' Tate

The New England Patriots are particularly interested in Demaryius Thomas of the Denver Broncos and Golden Tate of the Detroit Lions as they look to bolster their receiving corps ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

On Sunday, FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reported that New England was offering high draft picks for a "premium" receiver.

This is the first time Tate has surfaced as a potential trade candidate for the Patriots. The 30-year-old will be a free agent at season's end, and the Lions - who are in the thick of a playoff race in the NFC North - are unlikely to give him up unless they get overwhelmed by a trade offer, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

The versatile Tate has posted 44 catches for 517 yards and three touchdowns for the Lions this season, while Thomas has gone for 402 yards and three scores of his own on 36 receptions.
