The Denver Broncos announced the trade of wide receiver Demaryius Thomas to the Houston Texans on Tuesday.

Houston is acquiring a seventh-round draft pick along with Thomas in exchange for a fourth- and a seventh-round selection.

The veteran receiver had been on the trade block as Tuesday afternoon's deadline approached, with the Broncos sitting at 3-5 as losers of five of their last six games. The New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, and Tennessee Titans also made offers for the receiver, per 9 News' Mike Klis.

Thomas has recorded 36 receptions for 402 yards and three touchdowns in 2018. He could immediately slot into the Texans' starting lineup across from DeAndre Hopkins after the team lost Will Fuller for the season due to injury.

Meanwhile, rookie second-round pick Courtland Sutton will likely get more snaps and a greater share of the targets in Denver after Thomas' departure. Sutton has accumulated 17 receptions, 324 yards, and two touchdowns.

Oddly enough, Houston will travel to Denver for its Week 9 matchup.
