Report: Mourinho-Pogba bust-up due to miscommunication, Wi-Fi issues

A heated exchange at Manchester United's training ground Wednesday between boss Jose Mourinho and French midfielder Paul Pogba appears to have stemmed from a technical miscommunication.

As Pogba greeted United's training staff, Sky Sports cameras caught the World Cup winner exchanging a bewildered look with Mourinho as the manager appeared to express his dissatisfaction over an unclear topic. A later video from Sky Sports suggested Mourinho was bothered by Pogba's Instagram use during the match.

The faint hints of audio may have proved to be correct, as The Guardian's Jamie Jackson reports Mourinho took offense to Pogba's Instagram story after United's League Cup elimination on penalties Tuesday. In the video, Pogba is seen in the Old Trafford stands laughing alongside his teammates as United contested Derby County below.

According to Jackson, Mourinho believed Pogba was poking fun at the result, as the video was only uploaded following the match. Relations were smoothed over, however, after it was revealed that Pogba had filmed the clip as the match was still going on, but poor Wi-Fi at Old Trafford did not allow him to post it until much later.

Though seemingly just a misunderstanding, the training-ground spat is another chapter in a winding history between the pair.

Immediately following the loss to Derby, Mourinho confirmed earlier reports that he had removed Pogba as United's vice-captain, though he added there had been "no fall out" between the two.
